Court Re-Opening update

Afternoon Everyone,

Following England Squash's guidance update on Thursday we would like to share some key messages that we need all members to digest & abide to prior to re-opening.

We hope to have confirmation of our opening date for 'Step 2' (see above image) in the coming days . Thank you to those who volunteered this week as part of the exciting £20k refurb project, it is looking great!

  • We are reviewing our Risk-Assessment doc & Covid-19 Secure Plan to reflect the ES comms & satisfy our landlords; WHS. As a reminder, our Covid-19 Lead Officer is Andy Bright (Chairman)
  • Hygiene is of absolute paramount; minimise touch-points by not touching the walls, immediately use the provided hand-santiser upon arrival & use the on-site disinfectant product to wipe all touch-points particularly door handles & sweat areas on court. Bring your own towel & drink bottle.
  • Arrive on-site dressed for play no more than 5 minutes prior to your booking (all slots will remain on the hour), use the infrared Thermometer device (if it is 37.8 degrees or above please head home), finish your hit after the usual 40 min slot & spend 5 mins cleaning before promptly departing. This leaves 15 mins for ventilation & 75 mins for the court itself (only 1 court in-use per hour)
  • Bookings must have both players listed online & made in advance-only. Note, the shower, water facility & upstairs area are still out-of-bounds. No viewing spectators are allowed for now. The NHS QR code is available to check-in for track & trace but we will already have your booking details online so it is not mandatory.
  • Any member who has recovered from a Covid-19 infection should consult their GP prior to returning to play. If you have come into contact with someone who has had a case in the past two weeks, please do not book.
  • If you have tested positive for Covid-19 & have played in the prior 5 days, please let us know. Do not book until you have had two consecutive negative test results & consulted your GP.
  • Face coverings are advisory when walking on-site but are not required whilst playing.
  • Finally, enjoy your hit!

If you have any questions please reply to this email or reach out to any Committee Member. Info on Membership & the Junior Programme will follow in future Comms.

Take care,

Brackley Squash Club Committee
