Brackley Squash Club
Manor Road • Brackley • NN13 6EE
Hi everyone
Have you ever been in a position where someone has had a cardiac arrest and wish you could have helped.
At the club we wish to have a defribulator machine at the club and if we can get 80 members on a course this will cover the cost.
We are planning to organise a some basic first aid training at of cost of £10 per person. The nurse involved Charlotte at 41 saved her life and she wants to give something back to the Brackley community by doing the courses and money raised going to morer defribulators in Brackley.
If we can get members to support this event it will help save lives, we have access to one within 500m of the clubr- you just never know it is needed, would you know what to do if something happened in the club?
This will be put on the noticeboard location - did anyone know that !!
As part of our health & wellbeing progress for 2019 we wish to introduce this to the club.
Can you help in a small way and spare some time and learn something at the same time?
Next course is in March or we could organise something at the club if needed.
WHAT IS A DEFRIBULATOR?
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest.
This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it's an essential life saving step in the chain of survival.
If you come across someone who has had a cardiac arrest, it’s vital to call 999 and start CPR. Then you should find out if there is a defibrillator nearby.
There are many defibrillators available in public places such as train stations, shopping centres, airport and leisure centres. These defibrillators are often known as public access defibrillators (PAD) as anyone can use them in an emergency. You shouldn’t be afraid of using a defibrillator if someone has had a cardiac arrest.
We want to reduce any risks and have one available on site.
Please respond to this email that you would be willing to go on an evening course to be held in the squash club courts tba. Contact will be made later once we have an idea on numbers who will support it.
Best Regards
