Weekly Coach Guidance #4

Good Evening Members,

I hope you're keeping well, here is your weekly coach guidance including a round-up of the best Squash content created this week!

My family & I have adjusted to the 'new' routine as it were, including the 9am live Joe Wicks YouTube family workouts, I'm enjoying not having the daily commute but of course I miss that anticipatory moment walking on court, striking the ball for the first time (into the tin of course!) as the adrenaline & heart-rate picks up ahead of a hit.

Squash appears a while away but nevertheless I reached out to our Junior programme this week as we participate in the 'Knock it on' challenge . This is a creative video which has been doing the rounds online as players receive a Squash ball from the left, perform some crafty tricks, then 'knock it on' to the right thus creating a fun montage as the videos are stitched together! It was a great thing to do and had everyone super energised, here is an example (

Here is a summary round-up of this weeks best online Squash training guidance & content, thanks to our newly qualified coach Gabi (Junior Programme) for your contribution ;

  • A 600 calorie, 60 min cardio workout (high fitness level, no equipment needed);
  • A 500 calorie, 45 min cardio workout (intermediate fitness level, no equipment needed);
  • A 50 min YouTube conversation as Nick Matthew (former No.1 & World Champ), Daryl Selby (career high No.9), James Willstrop (former No.1) & Gregory Gaultier (former No.1) discuss the rivaly between the latter two;
  • A 30 min YouTube leg endurance workout from career-high World No.45 & Brackley 1st Team player Ben Coleman ;
