The Daventry Grand Prix is the last in our Junior series for this year where all the grades play at once. We had 55 junior players of which 20 were from Brackley, a great representation.
Because everyone plays at once it's a long day for all, so well done to everyone for sticking it out.
We had a good representation in Grades E-B with Oli the only A grader. One thing that was particularly pleasing was the girls representation, we definitely had the most girls from a club.
So Scores on the Doors.
Grade E was won by our very own Barney who did one better than his previous event. A shout out to Lara who entered her first event for a while and gained some valuable experience.
Well done also to Matt for winning his group and making the semis and Brodie for also making the semis.
Grade D was won by William who hadn't been to a Grand Prix for a couple of years and won a very tense final.
Sophia came second in the overall championship.
Jonnie reached the Grade C final and lost to Ella who was returning to squash after an absence. Well done to Lauren for making the semis. her squash is really improving all the time.
Jonnie also won the Grade C championship for the year, a great effort. Sophia was 3rd and Lauren 5th.
Emma and David reached the B grade semis for the first time a good effort against some strong opposition. Emma sqeaking through her group by a couple of points.
Emma came second in the championship race with David 5th.
Oli missed out on the A grade semis by a point with some great play again against strong opposition.
Oli finished 4th in the championship race.
All in all a great day out for all the juniors and huge thank you to all the parents who tirelessly transport their children around and are great supporters of the club.
Martin, Alistair and Oli.
