Our Covid-19 Secure Plan #4

Current status - Phase 1 - Preparing to open

Evening All,

In my last message I discussed our preparations for Phase 2 - Limited opening. Andy Bright, our Covid leader & Chairman, has now discussed our plans with WHS and they were very pleased with our thorough preparations and plans.

We now have a date for Phase 2 opening, which is the 1st September . Whilst I appreciate that this is a few weeks off, we have always said that we have to work with WHS and this is the date that they can commit to.

One of the key tasks in the Risk Assessment is the Track and Trace system which is vital to ensure we communicate with people should we have a positive case by a member who has played on-court. The membership database has needed a clean up for quite a while for which Rich Neat is doing an excellent job of managing this. He is currently spending hours a day of his time on this. Whilst we had hoped for an earlier opening date, it is now very clear that starting early on the membership clean up is the right thing to do given the size of the job. So please forgive our enthusiasm and work with us on this. For now, please add in your secondary contact information on your profile to support the track and trace system.

As a result of the 1st Sept date, we have decided that all members who have signed up at least a month in advance will be entitled to a free Water Bottle (worth more than the month's fee!). This will also apply to those who have not suspended their payments. Thank you to those members who have already restarted their payments & those who have continued their support throughout the closure.

We will communicate more of the policies and procedures to you over the coming weeks. We have yet to complete all of the tasks in the two previously shared documents which must be completed. We also anticipate things will change over the next few weeks and guidance from England Squash will change so we will keep everything under review. Please bear with us.

And finally just to reiterate, our top priority is to keep our members, WHS staff and pupils safe. We have a Duty of Care as a committee and this is at the forefront of our thinking and plans at all times.

If you have any queries or questions, please do communicate with us directly here or via our Facebook page and we will be happy to answer.

Best wishes,

Martin Hall

(Club Captain & Coach)
