11th Dec opening date

Dear Members,

Hope you're keeping well.

Since we last messaged we have spoken to the school and the earliest we can open is the 11th Dec after 5pm . This is due to WHS protecting their pupils and staff from Covid as there have been instances in the schools in Brackley.

Tier 2 advice from England Squash is sides or drills with a Squash Bubble member or full court within a household member. Solo practise is fine. We will be advising members to follow these rules.

Given where we are, the biggest risk to cross infection, apart from court time, is the cross over period between games. Therefore we want to be clear on the rules and consequences.

  • Enter the club no earlier than 5 to the hour
  • Leave by 10 to the hour
  • Play on your assigned court (Odd hours (7,9,11 etc.) Court 1, Even hours (8,10,12 etc.) Court 2

For clarity anyone not following these rules will have their booking rights suspended and will have to compensate other bubble members for any cancelled courts. We will not be warning people for a 1st offence.

Squash bubbles are up to 6 members. We will assume you want to be in the same bubble unless you tell us. If you would like to update your bubble please let us know.

If you have stopped your direct debit then please ensure it is restarted to activate your booking rights. Many thanks for those who have continued to pay during this second lockdown, which will go towards our expansion plans.

We thank everyone who has co-operated with us in these difficult times and we very much hope that we come out of Tier 2 soon. Hope of lifting these regulations is on the horizon as the next date for Government review is the 16th Dec.

At present we are being asked by the school to shut between the 23rd of Dec and the 4th of Jan, however we are talking to the school about this to clarify the reasons for this.

We will update you as soon as we have more news.

Best wishes,

Martin Hall

Club Captain and Head Coach
