Weekly Coach Guidance #8

Good afternoon Members,

Hope you & your family are keeping well.

This week I've been engaging with England Squash looking at our plans for the juniors across Northants. This is a great first step, it's good to hear what other counties do & build some great ideas for us to use in the hopefully not-to-distant future.

I won't go into all the detail but our key development points are around further boosting female participation, developing coaches & inter-county squads . Doing these things will not only help our juniors but also stands us in good stead as a club and for our expansion plans for 4 courts.

Exercise wise I have a garden project, one and a half days of digging is a great way to build stamina and muscle mass.

This week 16 year-old 186cm rising Englishman, Sam Todd, shared a simple set of leg & core stability exercises as part of the recently launched England Squash Junior 101 at home programme ;

Given the time we're now afforded as we remain at home, the World Squash library website has some superb content such as sharing the historic timeline of our great sport including the truly golden era of the late 80's, early 90's!
