Weekly Coach Guidance #5

Evening All,

Hope you're keeping well.

With the news this week of some sports starting to open up I suspect a few us will be into Tennis or Golf for a while, especially with the weather lookinh good.

I wanted to talk about Mental Health this week to coincide with the Mental Health awareness week which starts tomorrow. It’s not a topic we talk about very often but it's key especially now. The theme of this years campaign is Kindness, both to yourself and also to others.

Yesterday as I collected my pizza (healthy one of course...) a couple of NHS workers came in to collect their ‘reduced price’ ones. As they were leaving the owner called them back and said would they like a bottle of wine, which they gratefully took. Small act, big effect. We all need those in these challenging times & to keep everyone around us smiling.

This is my key message, be kind to others and yourself & consciously look after your mental health. I will give a shoutout to the Mental Health Foundation who have lots of handy info as well as fundraising ideas if you want to join in. If you need help with your mental health, talk to someone such as your GP or one of the many organisations that are there to help. I know for a fact Squash is a great mental release boosting our endorphins & dopamine levels & overall wellbeing, something I hope we can enjoy in the not-too-distant future.

Stay safe.
