Courts Open tomorrow - Covid-19 Update #6

Current status - Phase 1 - Preparing to Open

1st Sept - Phase 2 Limited Opening

Dear Members,

From tomorrow we move to Phase 2 - Limited opening. Everything is prepared and thank you to the members who have signed the forms and activated their booking membership. Tremendous work from Rich Neat here it's been a massive job (really it has!).

So the key thing I want to communicate is the timings of play if you book a court. This is vital to the safe distancing so it relies on those who booked to make this work for us.

If you have booked a court then :-

  • 5 to the hour you can enter the courts (e.g. 6.55)
  • 40 past the hour finish play (no later please) (e.g. 7.40)
  • 50 past the hour exit the club having cleaned up (e.g. 7.50)

You can see from the above it's tight so please help us make this work.

Rich and I have prepared a short video to show you what to expect which you can view with the following link;

We're aware of the recent change in England Squash advice about playing in up to 6 people bubbles, we will review that next week. Our current thinking is that we may introduce this after the first week and use the system to put people in mini leagues (this is independent of the original leagues). So you may wish to think about the 6 people bubbles you wish to form.

Just for clarity, from tomorrow you can play with your households only or play 'sides' & other Squash exercises with one other household, as explained here; https://www.englandsquash.com/back-to-squash/ways-to-play

So here we go, it's going to be fun.

Best wishes,

Martin
Club Captain & Coach
